Here is just some basic information and the answers to some frequently asked questions

Where do you ride?
We ride at Phoenix Rising Horse Farm in North Smithfield, RI.  It is about 30 minutes from campus.

How often does the team ride?
Each rider has one lesson per week, and horse shows are held on Saturdays and Sundays.  We usually have 4-5 shows a semester.  Practices rides are also available to the team, to be paid by the individual rider.

Do I need to have a horse to be on the team?
Absolutely not!  We ride a variety of horses in lessons to prepare for anything.  If you are interested in bringing your horse with you, feel free to contact the barn directly to get board information.

What is the time commitment to the team?
Riders need to commit to one lesson per week, at least one workout session a week, and as many horse shows as possible.  We also have one mandatory team meeting every week.

I don't have a car.  Can I still be on the team?
Of course!  We carpool to lessons, so a car is not necessary.

What level will I ride at?
Once our coach watches you ride and talks with you, she will decide where you are best fit.

Do you hold try-outs?
No.  We are a club sport, and will allow anyone to ride, regardless of experience!

When can I join the team?
We accept new members at the beginning of each semester.  We attend the activities fair in September and January, so find us there! You can also email co-captain Andy Rosenblatt (rosenblatt_andrew@wheatonma.edu) with any questions.

What other teams do you compete against?
We compete in IHSA Zone 1 Region 4.  Some of the teams in our region include Stonehill, Tufts, Mount Ida, BU and BC.

Who can I contact if I am interested in riding, or just want to know more?
Contact the co-captains Andy Rosenblatt or Aimee Shafner (rosenblatt_andrew@wheatoncollege.edu and shafner_aimee@wheatoncollege.edu).
